Ski Run Aquatic Invasive Weed Removal
Partners: Tahoe Resource Conservation District, Tahoe Regional Planning Agency, California Department of Parks and Recreation, California Tahoe Conservancy
Funds Granted: $15,000
The Ski Run Channel in South Lake Tahoe is infested with Eurasian watermilfoil and curly-leaf pondweed, aquatic invasive plants that threaten the clarity of the Lake. The high volume of traffic through the channel, notably commercial daily cruises to Emerald Bay, spread the invasive plants to other pristine areas of the Lake. This project treats and removes these hazardous weeds to restore the near shore clarity around the Lake.
